What should I do if I haven't heard back from the person I'm contacting?

Are you waiting for a reply from the other party and don't know what to do? Don't panic: in the vast majority of cases, it's simply a short delay. Here is how to deal with it calmly.
Follow up with the other party via your inbox
The most effective approach is to follow up directly from your Roomlala Inbox. A clear and polite follow-up message is often enough to resolve the situation.
To send your follow-up:
- Log in to your account and open your Inbox.
- Click on the relevant conversation to open it.
- Write your message, then click on "Send message".
Remember to keep all your communication within the Roomlala messaging system: this way, you keep a record of your conversations and stay protected if you need any assistance.
Don't worry if your stay isn't imminent
If the arrival date is not for a while, it is perfectly normal to wait a bit. Both a host and a tenant may need several days to respond.
Everyone checks their messages at their own pace: not receiving an immediate reply does not mean your request has been ignored. Simply give the other party some time to get back to you.
If you still receive no reply
Have you followed up and there is still silence? To maximise your chances, it is better not to pin all your hopes on a single conversation:
- Tenant: don't hesitate to send multiple booking requests for other properties.
- Host: continue to communicate with other guests interested in your listing.
