Check the status of your booking
To check the status of your booking, go to the Roomlala messaging service, on the conversation with your tenant.
Once the status is displayed, you can check its meaning below.
Booking statuses
- To be confirmed: the host has accepted an enquiry, but the tenant has not yet confirmed or paid.
- Pending: the tenant has sent an enquiry without confirming. The host can pre-approve, exchange messages with the tenant, or decline.
- Confirmed: payment has been made and the request accepted by the host, but the tenancy has not yet started.
- Declined: the host has declined the request. The tenant has not been charged.
- Expired: the host did not respond within 48 hours.
- Dispute: the tenant has declared a dispute.
- Cancelled: the tenant has cancelled their enquiry or booking request.
- Cancelled by host: the host has cancelled the booking.
- Cancelled by tenant: the tenant has cancelled the booking.
- Completed: the tenancy has started or ended, and payment has been disbursed to the host.
- Already rented: the tenant has found another accommodation for the chosen dates.
Understand the consequences of your actions
Response rate
The quicker and more positively you respond to enquiries, the more visible your listing becomes.
Not responding to messages from interested tenants can penalise you in search results.
Pre-approval
As a host, you can pre-approve or decline a request.
Pre-approval indicates that the accommodation is available for the requested dates and that the tenant can pay.
You can pre-approve several tenants at once. The first one to pay confirms the booking.
Remember to then withdraw pre-approval for other candidates.
⚠️ Pre-approval does not guarantee the booking. The tenant can still change their mind.
Do not manually block your calendar after a pre-approval, otherwise you will no longer receive new enquiries.
Decline
You can decline a request if the profile or dates are not suitable.
If you change your mind, you can reopen the request and offer the accommodation again by clicking the “ Change dates / price ” button.
Cancellation by host
Cancelling a booking can have a negative impact on your listing's ranking in search results.
