Service fees as a host
Updated on 04/06/2026
When a booking is made, a service fee is deducted from the amount paid to you. Do not worry: here is what they are for and how they are calculated from a host's perspective.
What are service fees used for?
Service fees are associated with online bookings on Roomlala. They fund the platform and the guarantees related to the rental:
- Guaranteed payment of your rent
- Compensation in the event of cancellation, according to the applicable terms
- Insurance tailored to the rental
How much do they cost?
As a host, service fees represent 3% of the amount paid to you, with a minimum of £3. This rate is the same regardless of the rental duration, whether short or long. For long-term rentals paid in several instalments, the fees are simply spread across each instalment.
The exact amount is always displayed to you before confirmation: you know precisely what you will be paid, with no unpleasant surprises.
How can I stop paying service fees?
With the Premium Pass, your service fees are removed entirely: you receive your full rent. The Pass is a 12-month subscription that you can purchase from your personal account, under the Premium Pass section.
