Why and how do I provide my tax information in my personal account?

Updated on 08/07/2026

A "Taxation" section has appeared in your host dashboard, and you are wondering what it is about? Do not worry. Here is why this information is being requested and how to provide it in just a few minutes.

Am I affected by this regulation?

The European directive 2021/514, known as "DAC7", requires Roomlala to collect certain tax information from hosts who earn income via the platform and then transmit it to the relevant tax authorities.

You are affected if you:

  • are a tax resident of a European Union member state,
  • or rent out accommodation located in the European Union.

If this applies to you, providing your tax information is mandatory. The "Taxation" section will therefore appear in your host dashboard: this is the sign that this information is being requested from you.

How do I provide my tax information?

It will only take a few minutes. Have your tax identification number (or your company details) ready, then follow these steps:

  1. Log in to your Roomlala personal dashboard.
  2. Open the "Host" menu, then click on the Taxation section.
  3. In the "You are" field, indicate whether you are completing the form as an individual or as a company.
  4. Complete the required fields.
  5. Click on "Save".

Individual or company: which one to choose?

At the very top of the form, the "You are" field allows you to choose between two options. You can switch between them at any time: the fields to be completed will automatically adapt to your selection.

  • "An individual": you are renting in your own name. You will be asked for your first and last name, your date and country of birth, as well as your TIN (Tax Identification Number, found on your tax notices).
  • "A company": you are renting on behalf of a legal entity (company). You will be asked for the business name, the registration number and, if applicable, the VAT number (optional).

In both cases, you will also need to provide your address (country, street, postcode and city), then click on "Save".

What happens if I do not provide this information?

Roomlala has a legal obligation to collect this information and transmit it to the relevant tax authorities. As long as your form is not completed, the payment of your rent will be suspended until the situation is regularised.
